Indoor Netball
Teams of 5 or 7 Per Side
Indoor Netball is one of the fastest and most popular indoor sport in Melbourne with competitions catering for beginners right through to experienced players in Women’s, Men’s and Mixed. Indoor Netball is a modified version of full court Netball, played on a fully carpeted and netted court. Therefore, most of the rules are the same except for some slight variations which make everyone become more involved in the game. Here are a few of the more common ones you should know.
Indoor Netball Rules
- Teams consist of 5 and 7 players
- In the case of mixed, there can be no more than 3 males.
- Games run for 4 x 8 minute quarters for 7 a side or 2 x 14 minute halves for 5 a side, with the result depending on which team has scored the most goals.

- All players must wear sporting attire (i.e. Shorts, runners, tracksuit, skirts, and track pants are all excepted) & matching coloured tops. No singlets, denim or sleeveless shirt.
- Any bad behavior, language or organization will not be tolerated and remember the umpire’s decision is final.
